The courses in IR, Diplomacy and Diplomatic Communication have a duration
of 16 - 24 weeks and the trainees are drawn from different ministries
including the Prime Minister's Office and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The
Institute conducts this training program on a regular basis.
The purpose of the training programmes is the need to foster and enhance
knowledge and skills on the last word in the best practices in
international relations and the status of Ethiopia in the aforesaid
sectors. The ultimate aim of this is to make Ethiopian diplomats
conversant with the rules and norms of international diplomacy.
5 Evaluation
and Feedback
The EIIPD is both a teaching and learning Institution. In line with this
it ensures that the training programmes are slated to the needs of the
trainees. This is done via appropriate planning and evaluations.
Evaluations of the training programmes are conducted in the wake of the
training and during the end of the programme.
The goal of each evaluation is to garner critical and constructive
feedback and to plough it into future training programs.
